Lokta-Natural/Tissue Weight

At 15 gsm, this natural handmade paper is the lightest weight we carry in lokta paper. With natural fiber inclusions and a subtle texture, this semi-sheer paper offers an interesting “blank canvas” for art applications such as block printing, printmaking and mixed media layering.  Lokta paper is an eco-friendly “tree-free” paper, derived from the lokta bush, also called the daphne bush. Growing around 6-9,000 feet up in the Himalayan region of Nepal, this bush completely regenerates in about 4 years, after being cut down to about 6″ from the ground.  Lokta papermaking provides a reliable revenue stream for the village artisans of Nepals rural and urban areas.
